- Description:
- MariaDB is a database server that offers drop-in replacement functionality
for MySQL. MariaDB is built by some of the original authors of MySQL, with
assistance from the broader community of Free and open source software
developers. In addition to the core functionality of MySQL, MariaDB offers
a rich set of feature enhancements including alternate storage engines,
server optimizations, and patches.
MariaDB is primarily driven by developers at Monty Program, a company
founded by Michael "Monty" Widenius, the original author of MySQL, but
this is not the whole story about MariaDB. On the "About MariaDB" page you
will find more information about all participants in the MariaDB community,
including storage engines XtraDB and PBXT.

devel/msgpack: Update and split into C and C++ versions
Upstream now provides msgpack as two separate distributions: a C version
with the traditional libmsgpackc.so library, and a header-only C++
version.
devel/msgpack is now devel/msgpack-c and devel/msgpack-cxx, and its
consumers now point to one or both. Note that it is entirely possible
for both to be required. PORTREVISION bump for all consumers.
In my testing, it's not clear that the MSGPACK option in the mariadb
ports actually does anything. I don't think mariadb is actually linking
against msgpack, even before this commit. |

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

All of the MariaDB releases contain the same ConnectorName CMake

endif(), but this is an error in the upcoming version.
Specifically NOT bumping PORTREVISION because this is a build-only

Update GCC_DEFAULT from 9 to 10.
A few (mostly Fortran-based) ports need to be patched because GCC 10
is stricter. A handful of ports need to be restricted to GCC 9 because
they fail with 10.
5 ports still fail with GCC 10. However, seeing as this work has been
ongoing since 2020-05-24, it is simply time to make the commit and
notify the affected maintainers.
While here, pet portlint (Makevar order).
