CockroachDB is a distributed SQL database built on a transactional
and strongly-consistent key-value store. It scales horizontally;

strongly-consistent ACID transactions; and provides a familiar SQL

CockroachDB is inspired by Google's Spanner and F1 technologies, and

The more pressing issue however is that the latest versions are
no longer open source (in the strict definition). Releases between
sometime in 2019 and prior to 20241118 are under Business Source
Licence 1.1 at release time, electing to change to the open source
Apache Licence 2.0 three years after the branch was first released.
Starting 20241118 all releases of the software are fully proprietary
even though source is available.
As of [20251202], 22.2.19 is the latest version that is now under
an open source licence, but the whole 22.2 branch is completely
unsupported upstream. There are a couple newer LTS branches that
are still supported but the earliest they become open source is
late next year, by which point they may also become unsupported.

go: Bump go124-dependent ports
Earlier I bumped the default Go to 1.24. Ports that specify a lower
version will still build with those lower version (for now), so they
don't need a bumping. Instead I'm bumping anything that (now) has go124
as a dependency.
databases/cockroach: fix build with GCC 13
Add #include <cstdint> where needed to fix building the bundled
RocksDB. This is a stopgap measure until this port can be updated.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

Style: improve ONLY_FOR_ARCHS_REASON (grammar, markup, etc.)
ONLY_FOR_ARCHS_REASON is used as part of the sentence and thus should
start with lower-case letter and not end with a period which is added
by the framework, similar to other knobs like BROKEN, IGNORE, et al.
While here, remove needless quoting, add missing Oxford comma, expand
contractions and jargonisms, use correct spelling for proper names.

it goes beyond the above error.
Convert all Go ports to USES=go
This allows for port testing with lang/go-devel via GO_PORT, setting
up the Go build environment in a single place, and is step one in
simplifying Go ports that often define too complicated do-build
targets themselves.
USES=go gains new arguments 'run' to add lang/go to RUN_DEPENDS and
'no_targets' for ports with composite builds that call 'go' themselves
and do not need the do-build/do-install targets of USES=go.
