Port details
py-claude-agent-sdkPython SDK for building agents on top of Claude Code
0.2.173miscΣ=0 Package not present on quarterly. This port was created during this quarter. It will be in the next quarterly branch but not the current one.
The Claude Agent SDK lets Python programs drive Claude Code as an agent.
It starts the claude command line tool as a subprocess and exchanges
structured messages with it, so applications can run queries, hold
interactive sessions, define their own tools as in-process MCP servers,
hook into tool use and control permissions.
NOTE: If this package has multiple flavors (see below), then use one of them instead of the name specified above. NOTE: This is a Python port. Instead of py312-claude-agent-sdk listed in the above command, you can pick from the names under the Packages section.
misc/py-claude-agent-sdk: Drop version from claude-code dependency
The tree already has a newer misc/claude-code, so the minimum version
is pointless.

misc/py-claude-agent-sdk: Add New Port
The Claude Agent SDK lets Python programs drive Claude Code as an
agent: run queries, hold interactive sessions, define in-process MCP
tools, hook into tool use and control permissions.
The PyPI wheels bundle a platform-specific claude binary; the port
builds from the sdist instead and depends on misc/claude-code, which
the SDK finds via PATH. The dependency is on the package rather than
the claude binary, because misc/claude-code-legacy installs the same
file but is older than 2.1.248, which the SDK needs for verbatim
prompts. ONLY_FOR_ARCHS follows misc/claude-code.
