Netdata is scalable distributed realtime performance & health monitoring system
netdata collects and visualizes metrics.
If it is a number and it can be collected somehow, netdata can visualize it.
Out of the box, it comes with plugins that collect hundreds of
system metrics and metrics of popular applications.
Netdata is very resource efficient and you can control its resource consumption.
It will use some spare CPU cycles, usually just 1-3% of a single core,
the RAM you want it have, and no disk I/O at all, apart its logging.
===> The following configuration options are available for netdata-2.11.1_2:
CUPS=off: Enable support for cups
DASHBOARD=on: Enable agent dashboard
FREEIPMI=off: Enable support for freeipmi
GOPLUGIN=on: Enable the Go based collector plugins
ML=on: Enable anomaly detection via dlib
PROMETHEUS=off: Enable prometheus remote write exporter
===> Use 'make config' to modify these settings
Quick start for local-only use:
1. sysrc netdata_enable="YES"
2. service netdata start
3. Go to http://localhost:19999/
4. <Optional> Connect to Netdata Cloud:
https://learn.netdata.cloud/docs/netdata-cloud/connect-agent-to-cloud#connect-an-existing-agent
Since 2.9.0 the bundled dashboard renders at most five nodes and reports
"Local dashboard is limited to 5 nodes." beyond that. This is a limit of
the web interface only, the API and streaming via stream.conf are not
affected.
If upgrading from < 2.9.0:
netdata 2.11 no longer reads [global] history and [web] disconnect idle
clients after seconds. Both are migrated internally and then ignored, so
review the retention settings under [db] in netdata.conf.
The OPENTELEMETRY option is gone, upstream now builds that plugin from
Rust sources that cannot be fetched during a sandboxed build.
net-mgmt/netdata: Update to 2.11.1
Vendor the Go plugins via GH_TUPLE instead of fetching modules during
the build, and take the bundled SQLite from the archive upstream pins in
NetdataSQLite.cmake. Disable the IBM and NetFlow plugins, which would
otherwise fetch from the network or need Corrosion.
GOPLUGIN now covers the scripts plugin as well, both come from the same
Go module. The prebuilt dashboard is listed dynamically because its
file names carry content hashes, and it is licensed under NCUL1, not
netdata's GPLv3.

net-mgmt/netdata: Update to 1.37.1

net-mgmt/netdata: Enable CLOUD option by default
Even with the CLOUD option enabled, the Netdata agent does not connect
to the Netdata Cloud by default. This has to be manually enabled after
the agent is first run using the netdata-claim.sh script.
Add to pkg-message instructions an optional step for cloud integration,

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.
Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)
Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.
