- Description:
- texi2html takes Texinfo files (and not info ones) and produces a set of HTML
files. The quality of the output is close to the printed output and is much
better than an info->HTML gateway. It understands most Texinfo version 2
commands and runs without problem on big Texinfo files like the GNU Emacs 19
manual.

textproc/texi2html: fix gettext dependency
While gettext is not an actual runtime dependency (remove in
06d7ae5e1cadb765ad367b412e6366cca866eac5) it is actually a build
dependency, as the build system uses msgexec(1) binary. the buildsystem
does not fail in case of errors, so if msgexec is not present on the
system while building the port it results in corrupted .mo files. |

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

Install texinfo files (GNU info) into ${PREFIX}/share/info
After a discussion on the mailing list on moving manpages to
${PREFIX}/share/man for consistency with base where it is
installed in usr/share/man, it appeared the same should happen
to GNU info files which were installed under share in base and
not in ports.
Now texinfo is not in base on any of the supported version of FreeBSD
it is possible to proceed to this move and it is easier to do than
the manpage change.
Other benefit than consistency are less patching: all build tools but
cmake are expecting info files to be under share/info and cmake (patched here)
was having an exception for BSD so the patch makes FreeBSD case less
specific for them

Update the texi2html port to version 1.82, largely based on
Pietro Cerutti's patch from the PR, but preserving the support for
a user-specified PROGRAM_PREFIX to keep PR 62607 still fixed :)
- update to 1.82
- support NOPORTDOCS properly
- fix DOCSDIR
- use the Savannah MASTER_SITES now that we're using a stock upstream version
While I'm here, refresh the single patch and add a descriptive comment.

Unbreak the package build - like, this time for real.
Patching texi2html.pl makes the Makefile want to remake something else,
which tries to use Perl, while we have declared that we do not need Perl
at build time. |

Revert to the traditional behavior when building split HTML: do not create a
directory and put the files in there, but create all the files in the
current directory with a common prefix instead.
Grrr: in the general direction of the texi2html authors for
throwing backwards compatibility to the wind without so much
as a note in the ChangeLog
Reported by: many people, including kris, WRT build failures on many
different ports which use texi2html :(
Pointy hat to: myself for not at least testing the xboard build ;) |

Errr.. oops. When I bumped the port revision, I certainly did not mean
to also increase the version to 1.70. Yes, an update to 1.70 is indeed
in progress, but for the present we are still at 1.66_3.

I'm not sure if the last change - adding USE_PERL5=yes - actually needs
a PORTREVISION bump, since the port would simply not build if Perl 5
was not installed, but since it changes the package's dependency list,
bump PORTREVISION anyway :) |
