This is a port of xml2rfc, a tool for producing documents formatted
according to the requirements of the RFC editor from XML, as described
in RFCs 7749 and 7991 (as well as the v3 syntax currently described in
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-iab-rfc7991bis).
NOTE: If this package has multiple flavors (see below), then use one of them instead of the name specified above. NOTE: This is a Python port. Instead of py312-xml2rfc listed in the above command, you can pick from the names under the Packages section.
*/*: switch dependency from devel/py-lxml5 to devel/py-lxml
Currently, there are two versions of python XML processing library
which conflict each other in the ports tree, namely:
- devel/py-lxml5 (now at version 5.4.0)
- devel/py-lxml (now at version 6.0.1)
To avoid the situation that some ports depend on py-lxml5 and some
others do on py-lxml (by switching dependencies individually), this
commit switches the dependencies from py-lxml5 to py-lxml at once.
Additional note: There are still two ports (textproc/py-rdflib and
www/py-draftjs-exporter) depending on py-lxml5 since they limit upper
version to less than 6.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

Convert Python ports to FLAVORS.
Ports using USE_PYTHON=distutils are now flavored. They will
automatically get flavors (py27, py34, py35, py36) depending on what
versions they support.
There is also a USE_PYTHON=flavors for ports that do not use distutils
but need FLAVORS to be set. A USE_PYTHON=noflavors can be set if
using distutils but flavors are not wanted.
A new USE_PYTHON=optsuffix that will add PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX has been
added to cope with Python ports that did not have the Python
PKGNAMEPREFIX but are flavored.
USES=python now also exports a PY_FLAVOR variable that contains the

Update to 2.4.2, a brand new version rewritten in Python. Also, assume
maintainership.
Note: the convenience scripts for txt, html and nroff are gone, but the
functionality still exists with --text, --html and --nroff.
A new version of xml2rfc (v1.36) has been released, as well as updates to
the xml2rfc web service running at http://xml.resource.org.
Major new web features include:
* New options in web form to generate ePub and PDF.
* New option in web form to show trace and warning messages
along with the output, using frames. This is the default.
* New option in web form to do strict DTD checking.
* New advanced web form (see bottom of the web page)
to: generate HTML using Julian Reschke's XSLT, generate
Postscript, and generate RTF.
Major new xml2rfc features include:

Update to the latest version, 1.35
For the port:
1. Fix spacing in header
2. Put the contrib files into their relative dirctories
3. Install the (new?) sample files
4. Switch to pkg-message
The previous maintainer has indicated that he no longer has the ability
to maintain the port. Cast it back into the pool for now in case an eager
volunteer appears. I plan to keep at least one eye on it in the meantime.
- Update to 1.3
- Utilize USE_TK, USE_TCL
Now it uses tcl/tk 8.4 instead of 8.3
