The Xfce Goodies Project includes additional software and artwork that are
related to the Xfce desktop, but not part of the official release.
The Xfce Project itself provides a lightweight desktop environment, which
includes only the core compoments required for a desktop environment, like a
window manager, a file manager, a session manager, a panel and a few utilities.
Additional software packages and plugins to existing software, like the panel
or the file manager, are provided by the Xfce Goodies Project.
This meta-port does not install any software itself - it simply depends on other
ports which are part of the Xfce Goodies Project, and a few additional ports
which are not officially part of Goodies, but highly recommended for an Xfce
desktop environment.

Welcome XFCE 4.20 to the FreeBSD ports tree!

This release has experimental Wayland support, but not all components
have been ported, YMMV. From upstream announcement:
Important Notice: Please be aware that the Wayland support in Xfce
4.20 is experimental. It is recommended for advanced users only,
as you may encounter bugs and experience incomplete functionality.
Proceed with caution!

x11/xfce4-goodies: Remove MIDORI option
This is a followup to commit 32afc2de5073731f3fcdbfc38171908619651758 [1].
Midori is not part of XFCE anymore, so remove it from the metaport.
While here also reflow options, and add newlines to ease readability.

x11/xfce4-goodies: Use PYTHON_DEFAULT instead of PYTHON3_DEFAULT
We do not support python=2.7 in DEFAULT_VERSIONS.
And x11/menulibre uses USES=python which means 3.8+.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

x11/xfce4-goodies: Enable BATTERY option only for supported archs
The xfce4-battery-plugin is available only for amd64 and i386. So
enable the option only for those archs.
Also add more unsupported archs to the OPTIONS_EXLUDE list.
While here enable again the BSDCPUFREQ option. xfce4-bsdcpufreq-plugin
has been fixed some time ago.

This XFCE release dropped support for GTK2 plugins and also dropped
GTK2 from all components.
WARNING: please check UPDATING before upgrading your packages. In
case of problems also read the libexo pkg-message.
Due to this some panel plugins and libraries will be removed since
they cannot compile anymore:

- x11/xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin

Disable the battery app on powerpc since it states that it is x86-specific.
This allows this port to build properly on powerpc*.

Welcome XFCE 4.14 to the FreeBSD ports tree
- This XFCE release uses almost exclusively gtk3, so the USES=xfce
now defaults to gtk3
- Make x11-themes/gtk-xfce-engine an optional dependency(disabled
by default), it only supports gtk2, so would leave miost of this
XFCE version unthemed.
- Add Greybird as an optional and enabled dependency as a modern
theme supporting both GTK versions and all other XFCE parts
- The xfce4-vala port is deprecated and removed. The VALA bindings
are available in the library ports using the GIR and VAPI options
(on by default)
- Fixed various missing library and portlint warnings (portmgr fixit
blanket)
- Default Display Manager changed to lightdm (Thanks to woodsb02

Add MENULIBRE option enabled by default to xfce4-goodies.
Adds the x11/menulibre to the component installed by the metaport.
It's a utility to edit Desktop environment application menus. If
present xfce allows calling it as it's default menu editor.
Add x11/xfce4-goodies: Meta-port for ports from the Xfce4 Goodies Project
This meta-port gathers together each of the ports from the Xfce4 Goodies
Project and allows them to be easily installed to create a functional
desktop environment.
Default options include those which do not bring in too many additional
dependencies, and are generally recommended for use on a modern Xfce
desktop.
It also includes ports which are not officially part of the Xfce4
Goodies Project (can not be found at http://goodies.xfce.org/),
but are generally recommended for use with Xfce4 on FreeBSD.
This goal of this meta-port is to help users get started with Xfce by:
1. Easily installing a sensible list of programs with a single command
2. Find new programs they may be interested in, by reviewing the list
of disabled by default options in the port
3. Show people which programs are not recommended for use by the FreeBSD
Xfce team (such as obsolete applications)
